Communicating with with Attorney General's Office

It truly was difficult to obtain information from some of the A.G. offices (during phone calls between 01/02/07 through 1/14/07).  Such offices as CA, GA, HI, etc. would not even give me the time of the day; even though I introduced myself and clarified the nature of my call was to assist consumers and advocacy issues. In fact, two (2) states A.G. offices switchboards told me " NOT to call " while a few others would NOT transfer me to a consumer protection agent or any legal representatives of the " Tax Payers' Office ". Those that did not want to assist or provided information, gave me their general website address in which some of those sites lack a lot of consumer/citizen related useful information.

 Some sites are too crowded and have circular irrelevant information. Meanwhile some states such as AL , AZ , KS , MT , NM , OR , WV , WA, WI Attorney General offices were very helpful and very kind to take the time to explain a few issues and code sections of their state laws that are concerns to ALL citizens. The general reason for my calls consisted of learning about:

  1. state laws, so that I would be able to present a more effective and quick reference for you; like the "Statute of Limitation Chart" I provided in my, " Your Credit = Your Life, Fix It Now!!! " book or through this site; and

  2. how helpful some of these offices truly are to their own citizens.

The named offices in the second paragraph (above) provided me more than just links to specific pages of their websites.

I am truly thankful for the assistance given by ALL those A.G. offices.
