Excerpt
This book is not a continuation of my book "Your Credit = Your Life, Fix It Now!!!" However, I reference that book from time to time so that those who read the book will have a reference point. I may repeat a few of the points discussed in that book here; the reason being that I will be discussing/arguing new points relating to the same subject matter. I must emphasize, the purpose of this book is to address money saving techniques and discuss many ways in regards to your money handling techniques. However, one of the most important pointers that I must give you NOW is the fact that good credit offers the best method in saving money. When you want to re-establish or extend your good credit (if you plan correctly), Saving Your Money will automatically become part of the process. Always remember when you have good credit, you have more money at hand and your savings increase. Therefore, if you have any of the following issues:
* credit crunch,
* planning to get engaged,
* married,
* having problems in your love/married life, (we are concerned with financial issues only),
* thinking of separation, (only financial issues in such relationships)
* divorce,
* defrauded or your identity was lost/stolen
* lost/stolen checkbook, wallet, car or home keys,
* facing lawsuits,
* overwhelmed with creditors and collection agencies calls,
* Your credit report or score looks disastrous, and/or
* thinking of filing bankruptcy;
I strongly suggest that you read my "Your Credit = Your Life, Fix It Now" book.
You can overcome any problem in life when the problem is faced head-on (challenged) and a solution is sought. Financial problems are no exception. In fact, it is the second most important issue in ones life and should be given one of the highest priorities (after health and well being). A lot of times, financial stress is the cause of illness and health or mental issues. When you face the problem, work on a plan and find a solution for it, then your stress, health or mental issues will be drastically reduced.
Therefore my dear readers, you should believe in the saying I use, "more is lost by indecision than by bad decision." Whatever you do, take a step back (step out of your circle) so that you can see your problem, analyze it, find solutions and act upon the issues in order to have a better and happier life.
BAD QUOTATIONS
I repeatedly heard the expressions that:
"Money is the root of all evil."
"Money does not bring happiness."
"Money can't buy happiness."
"Money does not grow on trees."
Money, money and more money.
I say: wrong, wrong, wrong. Money has nothing to do with happiness.
CREDIT CARDS
Credit cards can be a very dangerous element in someone's financial and credit life IF they are not managed, monitored, controlled and negotiated regularly. However, the upside to credit cards are that they can help you establish credit faster ; while the negative being that they can destroy your credit even faster (if you allow it). We must understand no one offers "free money," there is always a catch involved. The catch with credit cards are: .
As I stated in the previous book and here, "NOTHING IS FREE.". Sometimes the card companies or its third party affiliate offers you services or membership on "Free Trial" basis. Again, these can be auto and travel clubs, discount memberships, magazine services and long list of others. We sign up, not realizing that by the time we get the product or any reference to the product, one of the following usually happens: .
Challenges with Credit Cards:
You may be facing challenges with credit cards if you have any of the following issues:
1. Every time you are at a cash register, you pray that the card company will not decline your purchase.
2. All your savings have gone to credit card payments.
3. You have lost control, regret or do not want to look at your credit card statements to learn about your interest rate, your balance and your limit.
4. When the credit card company representatives call you, you continuously come up with excuses in order to drag the issues, and .

Hints for shopping online, phone or mail
* First thing you should do before shopping is to learn about the company's reputation. A lot of times entering the companies name on Google.com will provide you links to pages or sites that people create talking about their experiences with companies. In the Google search box, simply type the company name, and click "GO." You will see a lot of hits appearing with the company names. Read some of the brief descriptions and if any of the hits describe the company, then go to that page. You can also contact the Attorney General's Office of the state where that company's headquarters is located (Corporate Office).

I heard a financial advisor to suggest, "Reduce your insurance coverage or increase your deductible." I do NOT suggest this at all (especially during the time of stress). In fact, I would not touch the insurance policies other than what I shared with you in the paragraphs above. The premium difference between higher and lower deductible.
